Project: Shower Troubles

I've been in my house 1 year, 3 months, and 18 days,...and this weekend, I had my first problem that is resulting in a big project. The tile in my shower has been loose since I bought the house. It really wasn't a big deal to me, since I knew I'd eventually want to retile it anyways. Well, this weekend, the tile became too loose, and took some of the others with it. I have some minor rotting, and a lot of old backerboard and tile to remove, but I think the project will be fun for the most part. I will be replacing it with white subway tile, with strips of light blue spa glass. Now if only I could finish my taxes.

Project: Front Porch

This Saturday was an amazing 71 degrees.  I took the opportunity to get outside and instal my new front porch light.  I got my Restoration Hardware, Madera pendant off of ebay for way less than retail.  The craftsman look has only spurred on more ideas for the front of the house.  When the weather changes to a permanent 71 degrees, I plan on painting the ceiling of the porch a dark brown, repainting the green trim around the front door, and adding lots of potted plants.  On a whim, I also removed the dated hand rails that bordered my front steps.
